Conditions of Hire

Equipment is hired under our general Conditions of the Hiring of Equipment approved by the hire Association of Europe whose code of practice we follow. Copies available on request.

Deposits

A deposit is required for each piece of equipment hired that may be paid by cash, Access, Visa or cheque accompanied by a cheque guarantee card. NOTE: We do not accept deposits over the phone.

Identification

Required a current UK driving licence, Passport accompanied by a recent utility bill or any other personal documents proving current address. NOTE: Banker cards do not qualify as identification. We may need take photographs and vehicle registration for added security.

Hire Rates

Special weekend rates apply only to hire from 3.00pm on Friday to 11am Monday for CASH HIRES ONLY. Other hires start and finish am or p.m. 1 day = 24hrs, 2 days = 48hrs, 3 days = 72hrs, 1 week = 4 - 7 days. Hires over 1 week, each day will be charged at 20% of the weekly rate (this dose not apply to x-hired equipment).

Hire Consumables

Abrasives, oils, discs etc, are supplied on a sale or return basis so you only pay for those consumables you use.

Delivery

Charged extra according to Equipment carried and distance travelled.

Account Customers

Trading terms are nett 30 days from date of Invoice.

Cleaning

A charge may apply if equipment is returned in a dirty condition.

Customers Responsibilities

As a customer you are responsible for the safe keeping of all hired equipment, for daily maintenance and correct use of all equipment. Any equipment lost or damaged will be charged at full replacement cost. Insurance cover is your responsibility from the time of collection / delivery to returning to the shop.

Large Print

You will find our conditions of hire in small print on the reverse of our Hire Contracts and copies are available on request. They are drawn up by very hard working lawyers for the Hire Association of Europe and reflect ever-changing legislation. While they are very important we selected some of the new interesting ones for you to read without your magnifying glass.

Insurance

This is very important. When the equipment is on hire it is the hirers (that is you) responsibility to look after it and not to lose it. If you do lose it we will charge you for its replacement. This may seem a bit hard but it is the only workable system where the person in possession of our equipment is also responsible for it. You should therefore ensure plant and tools are properly secured and that you Home Contents Insurance or Hired Plant Policy provides adequate cover. We, for our part, ensure all equipment is individually marked.

Payment

A deposit is normally required while the equipment is on hire. This is variable depending on the type of equipment but will approximate three weeks hire charges. Payment may be by cash, cheque, or credit card. We accept MASTERCARD, VISA credit card and SWITCH debit cards. Company cheques and personal cheques beyond guarantee limits are accepted subject to authorisation by TRANSAX.

E & O E (Errors and Omissions Excepted)

Whilst every care is taken in compiling this price list change in model or supplier can lead to variances in specification and dimensions. If these are critical to the task being performed you should obtain confirmation of exact sizes and weights before hire commencements.

While our price list is comprehensive we are always adding new items. If the equipment you require is not listed please enquire, as it may be available or can be obtained for you.
